Es Pujols
Unspoiled nature, beautiful beaches and picturesque villages
Although located in a small bay on Formentera’s northeastern coast, Es Pujols – the island’s main tourist hub – still retains a village-like charm. Originally developed in the 1960s around a handful of fishermen’s huts, the area was purpose-built as a holiday destination. Today, it offers everything a traveler could need, with a well-developed infrastructure focused on relaxation and convenience. The heart of Es Pujols is its beach promenade – a vibrant pedestrian zone lined with restaurants, supermarkets, souvenir shops, boutiques, cafés, bars, and even nightclubs. Hotels and apartment complexes of all categories are scattered throughout the town. Especially popular with German visitors, Es Pujols also attracts guests from across Europe, creating a lively and cosmopolitan summer atmosphere.
The town’s beach is about 1 kilometer long and 20 meters wide, made up of fine white sand that slopes gently into the sea (water depth at 50 meters from shore: approx. 1.5 meters). Protected by the bay and a few small offshore islets, the beach is ideal for swimming and sunbathing. Umbrellas and loungers are available for rent, and the area offers a wide range of watersports, including banana boat rides, jet skiing, surfing, waterskiing, catamaran sailing, and pedal boats.
For beginners, a local surf school is available to help you find your balance on the board.
